Aesthetic Fillings

Aesthetic filling applications are used to treat fractures, cracks, or cavities in our patients’ teeth. We use aesthetic dental fillings to enhance the visual quality of patients’ teeth while maintaining their natural appearance. These fillings are tailored to patients’ budgets, preferences, and dental structures, using materials of varying properties. Typically completed within 1-2 hours, the aesthetic dental filling procedure results in new and improved teeth for our patients. These highly durable fillings are designed to fit perfectly with the patient’s teeth. Scope and Features of Aesthetic Fillings

Aesthetic fillings aim to improve the appearance of dental alignment while preserving the natural look of the teeth. These treatments enhance the brightness and sparkle of the teeth. Suitable for both front and back teeth, aesthetic fillings help achieve flawless dental alignment. Depending on the patient’s needs and preferences, the appropriate type of filling is selected, and the procedure is completed quickly. Aesthetic fillings, especially for the front teeth, address issues such as decay, fractures, or cracks, restoring a clean and healthy look to the teeth. Composite materials used in aesthetic fillings are as durable and long-lasting as natural teeth.

How Is Composite Filling Applied?

Composite fillings are custom-made to fit the exact dimensions of the patient’s teeth. The procedure for applying composite fillings includes the following steps:

  1. Our specialists first conduct a thorough oral examination of the patient.
  2. No filling or similar procedure is initiated until all oral health issues are identified.
  3. Before the filling procedure, patients undergo necessary dental treatments, including gum treatment if required.
  4. Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area where the procedure will take place.
  5. For gum diseases, root canals or similar treatments are performed, and cavities are cleaned.
  6. The decayed part of the tooth is cleaned, and the inner cavity is treated with pressurized water and a solution to remove bacteria.
  7. The cavity is then filled, and composite filling material is applied to the surface of the tooth.
  8. Before placing the composite fillings, all residue on the surface of cracked or broken teeth is removed.

To ensure an accurate fit, impressions of the patient’s teeth are taken using a mold. The composite fillings are then prepared according to these measurements and placed onto the teeth. The fillings are carefully sized, colored, and designed to ensure seamless integration with the natural teeth.

Aesthetic Filling Applications for Front Teeth

Front tooth fillings are applied using the bonding system, often used in smile design treatments. This single-session procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours. Before applying the fillings, patients receive local anesthesia. Once the tooth is prepared, the fillings, tailored to match the size and shape of the tooth, are applied. If there are cavities, they are first cleaned and filled with a composite material before a zirconium filling is placed on top. These materials are carefully chosen to match the natural teeth, ensuring a flawless, natural look.

What Are the Features of Porcelain Fillings?

Porcelain laminate fillings complement composite, amalgam, and light-cured fillings, addressing their shortcomings. While light-cured fillings may shrink slightly during curing, porcelain fillings offer a solution to this issue, ensuring a flawless appearance. These fillings are custom-made in a laboratory based on dental impressions, ensuring precise fitting and eliminating the risk of misalignment. Like composite fillings, porcelain fillings are bonded to the teeth for durability and aesthetics.

How Long Do Aesthetic Fillings Last?

The lifespan of aesthetic fillings depends on how well patients maintain their oral health and hygiene. These fillings typically last between 5 and 10 years, but with proper care, they can last even longer. Patients should avoid biting or chewing hard foods, and consumption of substances like cigarettes, alcohol, or acidic drinks can wear down composite fillings. Especially in the case of front teeth, fillings may be more susceptible to damage from biting. To prolong the life of aesthetic fillings, patients should take smaller bites, avoid hard foods, use dental floss regularly, brush their teeth consistently, and use mouthwash.
